Let's swim against cancer!
There are a LOT of fundraisers out there, but if cancer has visited you and/or your family, this one will probably mean more. My family lost my mother and my sister to cancer within just a few short years of each other. Because of cancer, they are not here to share their wild laughter, beautiful artwork, and wise counsel. It is a loss beyond comprehension.
Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care.
I joined Swim Across America because a) I believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope, and b) I've already had a round with breast cancer with my diagnosis at age 42. A cure will ensure that millions more will never have to worry about getting those dreaded test results.
On Saturday, September 14th, I will swim a mile in memory of my mom and my sister. If you are able, please support me by making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal of $250. Thank you for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer.
