Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care. I have been swimming for Swim Across America for a number of years. This is my favorite and only open water swim that I do because all the money raised goes towards cancer research. 

On September 7th, I will be swimming in honor of my sister-in-law Patricia Carrellas and my friends Lindsey Mooney and Olivia Jenkins. The strength and resilience of these incredible women will be with me every stroke.
