In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer.  I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.  I lost my mother after a brutal battle with cancer 25 years ago. Losing her has been a large part of my motivation to participate in Swim Across America. Money earned through Swim Across America RI will remain in our state to fund important cancer research at our local hospitals.
