Your Small Difference Helps Make a Big Difference.
This September at Swim Across America Rhode Island I will be swimming in memory of my grandfather, who bravely and resolutely fought a long battle with prostate cancer during my childhood. I am forever grateful for his presence in my and my family's lives, and yet I wish so often that we would have had more time with him. Although he is dearly missed, there are still so many more individuals still fighting their battles today whose lives can be saved and bettered with our support.
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. Cancer incidence is rising across the world due to various lifestyle and environmental pollution factors, and will be one of the leading health crises of the 21st century. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.
If you are able, please support me by making a gift. The researchers we are funding at the Women and Infants Hospital are in our community and form part of the next generation of cancer pioneers. Without Swim Across America early stage funding, they are not able to conduct trials that can lead to breakthroughs that can save lives. Thank you for helping make an impact in the fight to find a cure!
