Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies. Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care. 

I’m 11 years old and will be participating in the 1/4 mile open water swim at Roger Wheeler State Beach in Narragansett, RI on September 7th to raise money for cancer research. Proceeds support cancer research at Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island. I’m swimming in honor of my grandfather Joseph Manion.
