Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies.

I decided to join Swim Across America this year because I believe in their mission. My grandfather had cancer and he was a huge role model for me. He took every diagnosis with stride and showed me what true perseverance and grit were. We spent every holiday together, every big event in my life he was there. At the time, I did not understand cancer or what it meant for him but it did not stop him from showing up. I want to help fund research so more families have the opportunity to celebrate big events together and to see their loved ones on holidays. 

I am excited to do this with my swim team this year. I swim for Western New England University. We decided this would be a perfect opportunity to give back and to help a good cause.
