I am dedicating this year’s swim to my amazing mother! She was diagnosed with a rare type of salivary gland cancer back in December 2023. After two invasive surgeries, she is now cancer free. She still has a road ahead of her with big reconstruction surgery in a few months so the journey isn't over. She is an amazing woman and continues this fight with an amazing attitude. 

Let’s join together this year and make an impact in the fight to find a cure for cancer patients like my mom!

SAA Richmond event raises funds to support cutting-edge cancer research at the VCU Massey Cancer Center. Researchers are currently working on groundbreaking treatment that involves cancer-targeting viruses with a diversity of applications where traditional treatments have failed (cancer treatment goes viral). Very exciting to see such wonderful research happening right here in Richmond!

My (Team River City) is made up of the River City Masters Group, friends, and family. We are joining forces again this year with a goal to collectively raise over $30,000.
