Swimming for my Dad--Swimming for my Tía Liz
In December 2021, the relentless battle against cancer began when my dad received a diagnosis of stage III throat cancer. Since then, he's endured 14 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation, three surgeries, and countless infections and ER visits. People often ask how one can endure all of this, but with cancer, there's no choice. Watching someone go through treatment is unrelenting in uncertainty and fear. As my family continues to confront the grim reality of a cancer diagnosis, we've learned to find strength in the smallest victories.
It is a stark reality that within our lifetime, one in every two men and one in every three women will face a cancer diagnosis. Having experienced firsthand the profound impact of cancer, I fundraise for Swim Across America because I firmly believe that together, we have the power to change these grim statistics.
If it lies within your means, your support through a generous contribution will aid cancer research and innovation. Your donation directly supports the essential resources required to conduct pivotal trials that have the potential to unearth groundbreaking breakthroughs; saving lives. Thank you for your help and support.
