On October 5th, I will join together with 300+ other swimmers registered for the San Francisco Swim Across America event to raise money to help fight childhood cancers. I will swim from Marina Green to Aquatic Park with "UCSF Team Newborn," a team of friends of UCSF's Intensive Care Nursery. 

Most of you know that our daughter, Vivien, was born at UCSF with a congenital anomaly, and had four surgeries there. Our family is incredibly grateful that the doctors and nurses at UCSF saved Viv's life, and it is my pleasure to swim to help support UCSF's pediatric cancer efforts.
