2024 San Francisco Bay Open Water Swim

2015 Team with our mascot Finley!
2015 Team with our mascot Finley!

UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland Swimmers

This is the eighth year that the Oakland campus of UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital is teaming up to support Julie Saba's lab at CHORI and the UCSF Cancer Survivor's program.

This is the most amazing swim you will ever do! See the Golden Gate from the water while heading toward the Palace of Fine Arts with so many who are doing their part to raise money for cancer research in children. This year we are hoping to have a bigger team than ever. Let's make waves to stop cancer!

We have to recruit lots of swimmers - hospital affiliated or not. So talk to your fellow pool mates and get in the water! Let's get doctors, nurses, staff, friends, families, and even patients together. We will be at Aquatic Park or Chrissy Field weekends a couple times per month starting in June to get ready.

Tentative training schedule at Aquatic Park in San Francisco - meet at 8am, contact Christina at tina23vo@gmail.com so we can coordinate:

7/23

8/6

Maybe 8/13
8/20
maybe 9/3
9/10
9/18

From Swim Across America:

In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. We joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. We are challenging ourselves by swimming in the San Francisco Bay Swim and raising as much money to fight cancer as we can. Please support us by sponsoring our swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure.  Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!

You can make a credit card donation by clicking on one of the members of our team below, or send a check to Swim Across America, c/o Nathaniel Berger, 921 Church St., San Francisco, CA 94114.
