Welcome to Neil's Page for Team Shelly
Team Shelly returns to raise money for cancer research with Swim Across America!
As many of you know, Shelly Baker Butler was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer in late 2009. She was thirty six years old and the mother of two young children, Betty and Rhodes, ages 3 and 1.5 at the time of her diagnosis. She battled this terrible disease for 4 years and died in late 2013. During her 39 years, she lived with an incredible sense of humor, joy of life and lightness that we all carry with us today.
Shelly started Team Shelly in 2011 and we did the swim for a couple years at that time. It was fun and meaningful to swim with Shelly and we were proud to lead the pack among SAA fundraising teams. On September 9th this year, I will swim 2 miles in Lake Washington on September 9th, in honor of Shelly, and appreciate your contribution.
My goal is to raise $15,000 with this swim. Your contribution really helps fund initial research on cancer treatments that have and will continue to lead to larger scale research grants and real breakthroughs. Swim Across America connects with doctors right here in Seattle, I've met them, that are working on cancer break throughs that need seed funding to need to further next level cancer treatments.
Please consider donating by clicking on the donation link and making a contribution for my swim.
Thank you!
