In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.  

I swim for many friends and family that have survived cancer, My Mom - Jane Varda, My dad - Darryl Varda, Aunt Jean Pritchard, My swimming teammates - Sarah Buntzman Strong, Amelia Armstrong, and Emily Norland. I swim for Shelly Baker Butler, who left her cancer body many years ago and was an inspiration in her life and battle with cancer. I swim because I love all versons of swimming and I am thankful my body can carry me through this world and through the water. 

If you are able, please JOIN OUR TEAM SHELLY! You can swim remotely, or in person. You can gather some donations for this awesome cause that goes directly to research that directly fights cancer.
