In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that.  

I started doing this swim to honor my father who passed away many years ago from cancer.  My mother also battled cancer and is a fortunate survivor.   I am doing this swim to also honor many other friends and family who have lost their lives to cancer, are currently battling cancer, or have successfully put their cancer into remission.

I have been participating in the Seattle Swim Across America almost every year since it started.  I am part of the SPLASHForward team which is working to increase access to aquatics for all and spearheading the effort to build a new world class aquatic center to our region in Bellevue.
