Welcome to Kelsey Mitchell's Personal Page
Now that the Olympics are over, time for a real swim competition (cue the clanging cowbell heard in Paris )
On September 7th, I'll be joining hundreds of people (most of whom I don't know...) at Lake Sammamish, for an early morning swim.
This is my 4th year swimming a 1/2 mile - raising money for cancer research. The money raised helps locally here in Seattle, benefiting the Fred Hutch Cancer Center - helping accelerate research and funding new cancer trials.
This year I'll be swimming for someone I have never met, but has a resilient story. Little Milo Candido is only 2-years old and has a rare form of kidney cancer in children, called Wilms Tumor. Growing up in a small town, I went to high school where everyone knew everyone - and I know Milo's Mom and have seen (thanks to social media!) how it has impacted their entire family. While no one should ever be diagnosed with cancer, it is especially tough to see it impact the life of a small kiddo.
Thank YOU for helping me #MakeWavesToFightCancer
