On Saturday, September 7, I will be joining my 3 sisters, my 2 sons, and a whole gaggle of other family & friends for this year's Swim Across America (SAA) in Seattle.  

Just a few of us started doing this this swim as Team Pisty in 2016 in honor of my sister Kristin (Pisty!), a survivor who was then in the middle of it.  But we have grown in size and determination since then. We are dedicating this year's swim to my cousin Nancy, who is fighting her own battle with this shit right now. 

We all know so many more family and friends who have experienced the pain and loss of cancer.  In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. SAA raises money targeted to early stage research and trials at Seattle's Fred Hutch Cancer Center, and has provided millions in critical funding to the fight to f@#k cancer over the last 15 years.
