I joined Swim Across America because I believe in their mission and want to help give more families hope. I am a graduate of Tacoma’s Wilson High. While there I had the honor to swim with Mark Smith. Mark died of a brain tumor much too young. That was years ago. Recently, his younger sister Beth asked me to sponsor her as she swam in memory of Mark. I said, “Of course!!”
Today, my nephew is dealing with a recurring malignant meningioma and I want to show my love and support in a very real way. My team name honors him.
