I participated in Swim for Cancer every summer growing up and I'm excited to dive back in. It started as a fun swim-a-thon, with great prizes like a pass to the water park, but when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time, the swim became more serious for me. That summer I swam the length of the english channel in the pool -- 21 miles. We raised thousands of dollars and even made the news. My mom went into remission but the cancer returned years later. She fought it off, but the drugs and treatments were tough to see at the time and have had lasting impacts. We need to find a better cure. 

In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift.
