Join Granite Falls Swim Club as they Fight Cancer with Swim Across America. Everyone's life has been impacted by cancer which is why we're swimming to help "Make Waves to Fight Cancer" and raise money for cancer research, prevention and treatment.
Proceeds will benefit cancer research at UNC Lineberger Cancer Center.

WHAT: In 2022, two families from the Granite Falls Makos lost their fathers to cancer. Since then, these two girls, along with several supportive teammates, have participated in Swim Across America events to honor and remember those who have passed from cancer. This year, we wanted to create a Swim Across America event where more of our community could participate and join us in fighting cancer!
*This event will be closed to Granite Falls Swim Club members, Makos swim team members, and sponsored members (people who have been recruited by swim team or Granite Falls members).*

WHEN: October 5th, 2024
SCHEDULE:
- 12:30 pm: Volunteers Set Up
- 1:15 pm: Swimmer Check-in
- 2:00 - 4:00 pm: Swim
- 4:00 - 5:00 pm: Closing remarks, food, music, and more!
HOW TO JOIN: Click the register button in the middle of this page and get your own fundraising page to send out to your friends and family.
All swimmers and volunteers must complete the waiver found here and bring to the event check-in. If you are under 18, please bring the waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
FUNDRAISING: We encourage swimmers to each raise at least $100. Many will raise more but if everyone raises $100, our swim could raise thousands to support cancer research, prevention and treatment.
FUNDRAISING INCENTIVES: Every swimmer who participates will receive a Swim Across America cap and tattoos! Raise the amounts below and receive great SAA items for your efforts!

- $50 - SAA T-Shirt.

- $1,000 - If you raise $1,000 you are acknowledged as a WaveMaker and receive WaveMaker benefits.
Individual WaveMaker Status: $1,000 fundraising minimum:
