Welcome to My Personal Page
I
Family and Friends,
This event is so important to me for many reasons. Cancer has impacted our family a lot in the past couple of years. Cancer has shown me just how amazingly strong, brave, and positive people can be. My 2 grandmothers were diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer 2 weeks apart. They are both some of the most amazing women I know and I look up to both of them so much. Although the cancer has caused so much hurt in our lives- it has also brought my family so close together. By raising money to help fight cancer, I know more families will be gifted the gift of time and amazing miracles. I will be swimming in memory and honor of my Nana, Jean Evans and alongside my courageously fighting Nonnie, Ellen Blickenstaff. Please help me honor them.
I also will be swimming in honor of my closest friend’s dad, Jesse Diamond, who she lost last spring. She and her family continue to be strong without them, but I wish I could take away the pain it has caused. When I swim, I will swim hoping that I can keep as many Dad’s like Jesse here.
Cancer might not be impacting your family right now, however, in our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the SAA community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can. Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a gift. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
You can make a credit card donation here, or send a check. Check should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning my name as the swimmer you are supporting.
