Welcome to My Personal Page Family, Friends and Colleagues,
In our lifetime, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer. I joined the Swim Across America community so that, together, we can change that. I am challenging myself by swimming (with lots of sunscreen of course) and raising as much money to fight cancer as I can.
For those that know me, you know I love swimming and I love my work, which is in oncology fighting for patients battling cancer each and everyday! I know anyone that reads this has been impacted in some way by cancer. Cancer has affected me personally losing my Grandmother to pancreatic cancer, losing several Aunts to breast and stomach cancer, as well as losing my beloved dog, Bianca, to cancer. Fortunately, treatments have come a long way as there are more and more survivors and patients living longer with cancer but there is a lot more work to be done. Thankfully, my husband is a melanoma survivor and I have several family members and friends that are survivors today because of the progress being made. However, I have too many friends still battling cancer currently.
I am swimming for those that have succumbed to cancer, who have beat cancer (and pray they stay that way) and for those who are battling cancer now! If there is someone you would like me to swim for please let me know!!!
Please support me by sponsoring my swim and making a donation if you can. The money you give will go towards cancer research, prevention and treatment and will make an impact in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for your generosity and may it lead to a cancer-free world!
You can make a credit card donation here, or send a check to Swim Across America, 8508 Park Rd. #389, Charlotte, NC 28210.
Check should be made out to Swim Across America but please include a note mentioning my name as the swimmer you are supporting!
