Beneficiary
The SAA Seattle Team is proud to announce its partnership with Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) as our local beneficiary. All proceeds from this year's Seattle swim will fund the innovative cancer research and treament programs being undertaken at SCCA.
About SCCA:
Seattle
Cancer Care Alliance is a treatment center that unites doctors from
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, UW Medicine, and Seattle
Children's. Our goal, every day, is to turn cancer patients into cancer
survivors. Our purpose is to lead the world in the prevention and
treatment of cancer.
SCCA is actively involved in finding better treatments for cancer as well as finding ways to prevent it, diagnose it sooner and more effectively, and ultimately to cure it.
A
major focus of SCCA as an organization is to speed the transfer of new
diagnostic and treatment techniques from the research setting to active
patient care. Using an integrated approach to cancer research and
treatment, SCCA's parent organizations support the flow of scientific
information between researchers, doctors, and ultimately the patients,
which accelerates the development of knowledge and treatment
technologies for various cancers.
